The MF 265 Perkins A4.236 diesel uses a two-stage fuel filtration system: a primary (pre-sediment bowl) filter and a secondary (final) filter.
Primary filter: OEM 1447082M1. Catches large particles and water before fuel reaches the injection pump. Located between the fuel tank and the lift pump.
Secondary filter: OEM 3637380M1. Final-stage filter protecting the injection pump and injectors. Replace this filter every 200 hours. Replace the primary filter every 400 hours or when the bowl shows contamination.
Bleeding the system: After filter replacement, loosen the bleed screw on the secondary filter head and operate the hand priming pump until air-free fuel flows. Re-tighten and crank. If hard to start, repeat bleeding at the injector lines.
Water contamination: If the primary bowl shows water or dark sludge, inspect your fuel storage. Water in the injection pump is expensive — don't skip primary filter changes.
