The MF 240 Perkins AD3.152 uses a two-stage fuel filtration system. The same filter numbers used on the MF 135 apply directly to the MF 240.
Primary filter: OEM 1447082M1. Pre-sediment bowl filter that removes water and coarse particles before the lift pump. Replace every 400 hours or when contamination is visible in the bowl.
Secondary filter: OEM 3637380M1. Final-stage protection for the injection pump. Replace every 200 hours without exception.
Bleeding the system: After replacing either filter, loosen the bleed screw on the secondary filter head. Operate the hand primer pump until fuel flows clear and free of air bubbles, then retighten and start the engine. If the engine won't fire after 10 seconds of cranking, bleed again.
Regional note: The MF 240 is widely used in Pakistan, India, and the UK. Fuel quality varies significantly between markets — in areas with poor fuel hygiene, reduce secondary filter change intervals to 100 hours and inspect the primary bowl every 50 hours.
