MF 255 Guide

Massey Ferguson 255 Fuel Filter Cross Reference

The MF 255 Perkins AD4.212 uses the same two-stage fuel filtration system as the rest of the Perkins 4-cylinder MF range.

Primary filter: OEM 1447082M1. Pre-sediment inline filter protecting the lift pump. Replace every 400 hours or at first sign of contamination in the bowl.

Secondary filter: OEM 3637380M1. Final-stage protection for the injection pump. Replace every 200 hours.

Injection pump note: The AD4.212 turbo uses a CAV rotary injection pump. These pumps are precision-machined and are not tolerant of water or contamination. If you notice difficulty starting, rough idle, or black smoke, inspect the fuel system before assuming a turbo or mechanical issue.

Bleeding: After filter replacement, loosen the secondary filter head bleed screw, prime with the hand pump until air-free fuel flows, retighten, and start. If the engine fires but stalls, bleed the injector lines individually by loosening each union 1 turn, cranking for 3–4 seconds, then retightening.
