MF 275 Guide

Massey Ferguson 275 Air Filter Cross Reference

The MF 275 and MF 285 use the same dry-type two-stage air cleaner as the MF 265. The outer and inner elements are shared across the full late-production Perkins 4-cylinder MF range.

Outer element: OEM 1447082M91. Replace every 500 hours or when the restriction indicator signals red. In dusty cultivation or grain harvest work, inspect every 50–100 hours.

Inner safety element: OEM 1860841M1. Replace at every third outer element change. Do not clean or reuse — replace only.

Inspection after cleaning: After tapping out the outer element, hold it against a light source. Any visible pinholes or cracks in the paper media — discard and replace. A compromised outer element passes fine abrasive particles to the inner element, which then becomes the only barrier to the bores.

Pakistan and South Asia conditions: MF 275 and MF 285 tractors working in the subcontinent often operate in extreme dust environments during wheat and rice harvests. Inspect the outer element every 50 hours in these conditions. Ensure the housing clamps are tight at every service — vibration loosens them over time and a loose clamp bypasses all filtration.
