The MF 50 uses a dry-type air cleaner with an outer primary element and an optional inner safety element. The air cleaner housing is the same canister design used across the MF 150, MF 165, MF 175, and MF 180.
Outer element (primary): OEM 1026191M91 (also listed as 1026131M92, 1040178M91). This is the main filtration element you replace at regular intervals. Cross-references to International 313964R91, Ford E6NN9B618AB, and Allis Chalmers 70237395, so aftermarket availability is excellent.
Inner element (safety): OEM 1897152M1. This is the secondary backup filter that protects the engine if the outer element fails. Replace it every other outer element change or whenever it shows dirt.
Fitment note: Both the Perkins A3.152 diesel and Continental Z134 gas versions of the MF 50 use the same air cleaner assembly and elements. Check your intake hose clamp and housing gasket while you have the canister apart. A cracked gasket defeats the purpose of a new filter.
Change the outer element every 200 hours or sooner in dusty conditions. Tap out loose dirt before removal — never blow compressed air through a paper element.
